your guides

My name is Oula Niemelä. I am the guide and creator of these adventures. I grew up in a small town in Finland, by lakes and forests. Now my home is in Northern Norway in Reisadalen which is one of the most beautiful valleys in the country.

I have been taking people out on adventures for over 10 years in the polar regions. Work as a guide has taken me all the way from North Pole to Antarctic peninsula. I started my guiding career in Northern Lapland, which is still one of my favourite destinations. Before settling to Reisadalen, I lived over five years in Svalbard, where I gained a lot of knowledge about Arctic travel.

I have following certifications:

  • Arctic Nature Guide (UiT)

  • Finnish Nature and Wilderness Guide

  • Avalanche technician (SVELAV)

  • Avalanche instructor (FINLAV)

  • Activity leader for sea kayaking (NPF)

  • Wilderness First Responder (WMS)

To our team it's important that our guests feel safe and comfortable on our adventures. On a trip with us you can explore the great outdoors in a small and intimate group. Our goal is to provide the guests with new learning and knowledge. Perhaps you get a chance to expand your comfort zone in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

Adventuring with respect for nature and sustainability are our greatest values, which we also want to convey to our guests.

Are you ready for an adventure?
