Dark season ski expedition

This ski expedition leads you into the heart of the polar night. They call it dark season, but on a clear day the twilight hours are coloring the sky with intensive pink and violet colors. When the darkness falls the landscape is often lighten up with moonlight or the dancing northern lights. This is definitely the most magical time of the year.

From the weather we can expect anything. On cold and clear days, temperature can drop down to -30 ºC. We stay above the tree line during the entire tour and the Arctic Ocean with raging storms is not far away. If the winds get too high, we might need to seek shelter from our tents or wilderness huts, and wait until the weather improves.

During the expedition we will sleep in cozy wilderness huts. The huts are basic standard with wood burning stove to keep us warm and gas stove for cooking. The beds have mattresses and you will use your own sleeping bag. The toilets are located outside.

This is a challenging ski tour, and you should already have experience of cross country skiing and staying outside in the cold all day. You will be pulling a pulka with all your personal gear and food for seven days.
